Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

Nice fish Sonny.

Damnit Sonny, you are taking that retirement thing seriously. What kind of catfish is that?

I guess that means you have liquid water now. :)

HaHa no catfish in these parts.

This is a Bull trout and they are catch and release only but that's ok because they taste like wet sawdust anyway.

River is open here but still iced over farther downstream. Some of the southern lakes are Ice free but here we will have to wait another couple of weeks. It's been a brutal winter up here but the 14 day forcast is looking very good with temps in the 60s F.

I see, trash fish. We don't photograph them in the South. I am sorry you dont have catfish. Tell me you at least have bluegill, or fishing would be a waste of time and effort.

That reminds me of a Squaw fish I used to catch on the Sacramento River in Northern Calif. They hit the bait like a 30lb salmon and fight like hell for about a minute then just go limp and you get to tow in a 10lb dead weight. You can't eat them either, same sawdust.

Sadly we don't have bluegill either but I do remember catching those in the 70's when we lived in southern Ontario.

I'll admit it that our fishing here is not top notch but we make the best of it.

What we have..
Rainbow trout
Brook trout
Brown trout
Cutthroat trout
Bull trout
Lake trout
Golden trout but not many
Rocky mountain whitefish
Lake whitefish
Arctic grayling
Pike
walleye.. my favorite.
Perch
Burbot
Suckers
Lake Sturgeon

And that's all I can think of. But you know what I miss the most?

Bass fishing.Dang those were fun to catch.
And Crappie...mmm yummy. :)

The Fish and Game encourages catch and leave on the bank for the eagles or other varmints to eat. Squaw fish like to feed on salmon eggs and can really do some damage to the run if left alone.

You just stick to your bream down there, there are no walleye or pike in Canada at all.

Eelpout (burbot) are creepy to catch (they will wrap themselves around your arm like an eel) but delicious!
