Type 38 trainer find

Post by burb1989 »

Hey guys. I picked up this type 38 training rifle from a friend of mine who wanted a nice shooter arisaka. I ended up trading him a last ditch with a heavily sanded stock and he gave me this and $60 for it. I'm happy with the deal since I've been looking for a nice training rifle to go into my display for quite some time and this one is definitely nice aside from all the damage to the stock. Every number matches on it and it has the manufacturer's mark on top of the receiver. Hope you guys like it as much as I do.

It looks fantastic! :Drool1: Since I'm not familiar with Arisaka trainers, what caliber is it?
I'm broke because I buy milsurps. I'm rich because I buy what I enjoy.

Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.
Don't hit at all if it is honorably possible to avoid hitting; but never hit soft.

It's modelled after a type 38 so 6.5 caliber though it is a smooth bore so I can't fire live ammo out of it. It's definitely a wall hanger and an educational tool for when I do my display at shows to show the difference between a training rifle and a school rifle.

Ok I had feeling it was 6.5 but wanted to be sure. Definitely is a nice looking wallhanger/educational piece! Thanks for the info.
