Project guns!

Post by Tcmosin »

Found a local estate sale, family selling off dads gun collection and parts from his gun room. My Mauser collection just grew a little. Spanish 1916, Chilean 1895, Ceskoslovenska/Brno k98? All where just missing a few parts, I think the old man was building sporterized rifles. tables full of parts, found a few for these but will need to do some digging for the rest. Need to do some more research on the Brno. Anyone one have any info on that one?

You can find parts for these easily enough, these are common Mauser's, nice finds. Check the headspace in all of them.
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.
Don't hit at all if it is honorably possible to avoid hitting; but never hit soft.

I've got 7mm and 8mm headspace gauges if you want to bring them down.

Yep, Czech post war K98k made from (depending when it was made) leftover German parts and/or new made parts on old German machines. Never seen one without the sight hood though
