Sestroryetsk Arsenal M1891, one of at least three 1915 Sestroryetsk's that I have in the collection, this one is unground and is SA marked with Civil Guard number on the receiver. It has a nice Finn trigger enhancement, and a few stock repairs to it's one piece stock. Decent bore, shows use, but not abuse, and is not counterbored, Finn matched bolt of course. Back from when you could buy a Finn M91 for a lot less than the cost of a good used car.

What's the deal with the large "S" on the receiver flat? Don't believe I've seen that before.

I don't remember if I ever figured that one out or not, seems I remember something about it but at the moment it escapes me.

The scrolled "m" on the right side rear sight base is also interesting. Metre?

Could be, I always assumed it was, but you know the old saying about assuming stuff.

Yes, assumptions are great rumor starters. Suffice to say, it does look appropriate leading into the range demarcations.

The "M" is how I mark all of my rifles. (M for MINE) Dawg, you can send it back to me any time.
