3 Mosins PU help me choose one for shooting!

Post by Steyrtac »

Hello all!

I got myself 3 Mosins PU yesterday and I plan to clean one of them completely and shoot it.

Maybe all 3 can be cleaned and used as I think they are all reworks and are not historically significative...

Hera are some pictures:

Rifle 1.

Iszevsk, 1943, scope refurbished in 1965, electro penciled mount withs rifle and scope serial numbers.

All three of them are historically of value.

But, it will not hurt them to clean them up completly and oil them up and fire them. After all, they are battle rifles and will take most anything you give to them. Just don't "alter" them in any way.

Very nice looking rifles!!! Look to be Tulsky imports.  8-) 8-) 8-) 8-)

You must be single!!! :chuckles:

Thanks for the reply Sir!

For sure I won't alter those gems!
But I was feeling weird to wipe grease applied more than 55 years ago.

I will enjoy them as shooter but will take care of them too.

BTW, I'm married and father of four boys, that explain why I need two more PU's. My wife prefer my Polish M44!

As someone says: "Life is good"!

Correct me if I'm wrong but one of those receivers looks pretty rough and has flat turret screws instead of the domed. Am I the only one?
