Gun shop closing

Post by +dhic »

The wife and I went to one of our favorite small gunshops yesterday. We found out he was closing and had marked down
some of the inventory. I was looking at the 22 ammo when I heard my wife ask, how much for the Golden Boy. Then I heard
I'll take it. After we paid out she asked me if I saw anything I was interested in. I said I'd like to have the Marlin mod. 94 in
32-20. The rear sight was broken and the stock had a very old major repair. The X-owner had stuck his initial on the stock.
It was made in 1898 so I think I'll leave it just like it is. For it to be as old as it is, it shows very little wear. The checkering
on the hammer is still sharp. I checked it out after a clean up and it worked the shells like it should. Got to go test it today.
Here is a pic or our new rifles. +dhic. Cliff

8-) Nice!I hope one of your initials is "R". I've always liked .32-20, and Marlins! Your wife sounds like a keeper!

I think I found some brass for that just the other day, a legacy from a closed down gunstore/reloading shop inventory that I bought out a decade ago. I gave the guy 500 cash for the remaining goods that did not include any firearms and since then selling one item at a time here and there I made over 8 large. A lot of reloading equipment that was surplus to my needs, components, parts, ammo, I still have a lot of stuff left. You should wait until the final days and see if the shop owner will entertain offers to buy out the lot.
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.
