Just picked this up the other day as well. Mas 36/51 made in 1955. Pretty excited to get this one to the range as well. Extremely happy that this one sort of landed in my lap.

I edited in a stick cause I posted it on Facebook as well. People don't need to know all my serial numbers. Call me crazy!

Very nice is it fully marked and matching?

I always wondered why people care if others see the serials on a Milsurp. Can anyone explain?

Eh paranoia I guess. Not terribly important to do.

It's numbers matching on the metal but this is a later rebuild where they put new wood on it.

What metal? Just curious. It should be bolt, trigger guard, magazine floorplate, receiver, and bayonet. I've been trying to track percent that gets all marked vs unmarked parts during refurb.

The trigger guard isn't marked and upon closer inspection the bayonet isn't matched to the gun. It looked like it was but it is a different number. Still really like this rifle. Gonna get it to the range here pretty soon.

Not many of them are completely marked. It doesn't hurt the value very much and it certainly doesn't hurt the shootability.

Yeah my Mas36 and 49-56 aren't fully marked either since they were also through complete rebuilds. Took it out yesterday and managed a 4 inch group with my reloads. Not too bad I think, especially with that gigantic front sight.

It took me a awhile to find ones that were fully marked and matching. I have one of each example from 36-49/56 including 44 and 45. Now I need a pre-war 36.
