I do as well! I thought the bore was really worn when I bought it, even after cleaning, but after I fired the piece a couple times, the bore really cleaned up and now looks great! 8-)

1936 28-30 that may have been a M28/57 at one time.

M28 with matching serial, civil guard and rack numbers. I like the non refurbished rifles best.

Refurbished m28/30, 1939 in a 1940 stock. Shoots great with a nice crisp trigger pull.

No date (1932) M28/30.

SA marked 1937 M28/30. Stock has the Finnish lacquer coating and the Civil Guard mark must have been removed from the stock for some reason. I won this on auction last year. The auction photos made the rifle look horrible, and I was the only bidder. Handguard is cracked near the front band. The trigger on this rifle is incredible. I'd like to pick up a no date at some point and a nice M28 to round out my Finn collection.

I see your rifle has a #2 stamped on the barrel. So does my 1937 28-30. The rifling on my 1937 is pretty good, shiny and strong, what is the condition of the rifling on your 1937 28-30?

Folks thought at one time the #2 stamp stood for a lesser quality barrel....but folks over the years have posted such rifles and the rifling on some of em....well....is great!

I also forgot, I have a 1940 dated 28-30 with a #2 stamped on the barrel as well.....the rifling on that one is....superb....

Pahtu,

The bore is very shiny on this. The rifling looks a little rounded, but the bore still needs a good cleaning. I think I lucked out because the auction photos made the bore look really bad (it just had some crud/grease which made it look bad in photos). The bolt is really smooth and the trigger is great on this though. It's definitely one of the better triggers I have on my rifles.

Thanks for the reply, I kind of suspected the rifling was fine - Now I wonder just what that #2 stamp means?
