#2 looks like a ww1 trench warfare setup. Would have used that periscope to see the sights for aiming and not exposing the shooter
On Facebook? Check out the non-sporter preservationist group at: OOOPS. Deleted by Facebook because it's evil to even discuss collectible firearms on social media these days.

Picture 1 I've seen 2 on gunbroker. I maybe wrong ,but I think sparky235? won 1 of them. You can buy a nice used car for what they go for. I would say that's the holy grail for any collection. The second picture what racerguy00 said.

Yes, sometime in the last ten years both have shown up on the board several or more times. I believe some of our members own one or both types. Every side had a trench rifle like that, beat the hell out of getting your head shot off trying to take pot shots at the enemy over the trench top. The men with no faces haunted the public memory for decades after the Great War, one was even a major character in the recent HBO hit Boardwalk Empire. All the enemy could see was your head , so that's what the snipers aimed at, sometimes you lived, part of you anyway. There were not many of these trench rifle devices to go around, to snipe for real you had to stick your head up. Very few survive today, there was not much call for them during WW2.

Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

I found both of the pics while hunting around on a Finnish (not sure if that is politically correct, apologies if not) website. I am curious about the first picture. What do the markings mean?
