First Smith & Wesson Revolver
Friday at lunch I stopped be my favorite local gun shop to see what new they had in stock. I plan to buy my daughter a 22 for her birthday next month and have not really found what I am looking for. While browsing the used gun counter I spotted a S&W revolver. It came with the original box and paperwork. I asked how much to buy it today and the owner knocked $60 off the sticker price. SOLD! I just could not pass this one up. Here are a couple pictures. It's a model 64-2.

Yes! You have one of the older ones and, in my opinion, one of the better ones. Smith and Wesson just made really great revolvers in that time frame. Congrats.-

Nice find. I love the snub nose. The only Smith & Wesson I own is a Samith 500.

I had one for years, great pistol. That K frame will soak up the recoil and handle +P loads much better than a J-Frame and the weight trade off is not that much. Especially when you consider that you get another round. Enjoy

A little over a month ago I was looking for a light weight 2" snub nosed revolver. Just about everybody told me either buy the LCR or an OLDER Smith, not a new one. I ended up getting the LCR (.38) as my carry gun. I still use a Smith snub nose (.357) for my "car gun." If I were in that gun store with you, I think we'd be rasslin' over that little Smith. I'm pretty sure it's an all-steel frame but isn't quite as heavy as the .357 version. Well done.
Oh... and one other thing: I'm glad you got the exposed hammer. I agonized over exposed or concealed hammer and finally went with what I'm used to: an exposed hammer. I couldn't be happier. I like shooting single action and I also like the ability to wear small holsters that have a strap securing the weapon. The ones with the hammer provide an excellent point in which to strap it in the holster. I know lots of guys like the faster draw holsters. I'm slow on the draw anyhow and am more concerned with losing a weapon during a scuffle or a fall rather than taking an extra second to draw. That's just me, though.

NIce. The M64 and 65 are the best value in .38/.357 revolvers. But I do like my Bodyguard 38.

Last Sunday I managed to shoot 12 round through this fantastic little revolver before the range closed and we had to leave. I will say it shoots wonderful. At 7 yards it soul be hard to miss with this 38.
