Been selling a few things to get this one. its a 1914 dragoon rifle. stock car-touche is marked 1916, bolt is original matching. Solid bands. appears to be a dragoon hand guard that was cut down. KAB marked sight. also came with a interesting cloth sling I haven't seen before and a m91 bayonet.

floorplate is scrubbed, butt plate is a mismatch

Holy cow Mitch. You found a original non-Finn Dragoon it looks like. Is there a SA stamp on the barrel? I am thinking not. It is a Russian stock. I have a 1916, but mine is a Finn in a 2 piece Finn stock. I take what I can find ya know. I would have jumped on this one in a heartbeat. I would love to see you take a whole new set of pictures in better lighting. These pics are ok, but some super clear pics of this beauty is just likely to get a bunch of showcase votes! congrats on a super find.

the rifle does have a SA stamp but other than that everything has izhevsk stamps. the bayonets a m91 bayonet ill take more pics tommarrow, it was raining today

I hope the members here realize the rarity of these 2 Mosins. You may go through life and not see them again. Outstanding.

I guess being a Finn capture all bets are off, but it is my understanding (according to Joe Leiper) that Panshin bayonets were never made for Dragoons. They were only made for transitional 91/30's. Vic has some conflicting wording on Mosinnagant.net about this; but every time Imhave ever brought it up in conversation on Gunboards or Ted's site, I get an emfatic "no" they were never made for Dragoons.

Mitch, yours looks like it has the rare earlier type 1 hand gaurd ( it wrapped around the rear sight) that was modified to be like a type 2 , this is quite common since they where very fragile around the sight.

One identical to mine with the DR stamp recently sold on GB and went for close to $1,200.00. I wanted it bad, but once it topped a grand I had to bow out in favor of a all matching Finn Captured Dragoon.
