sweet day at the range

Post by jimpierce7 »

and a very much needed day at the range too I might add. Not wanting to overly bore you all with it, I did want to say I tried something. Something maybe not good? I won't do it again. I did not like the outcome. I put the trigger and seer from my M44 on my Remington M91. Keep in mind I am trying to do the squeeze not jerk thing on the trigger. Now I know for sure, it is the trigger I don't like on my M44. lol I actually prefer the long hard pull of the Remington trigger. I was all over the dang target. I did how ever hit the steel target 3 out of 4 times!!

I really like my 41 VKT M91. The feel. Everything. Plain old 149g surp ammo. Besides the 15 into the target I put 25 at steel. I missed twice. I would shot more but there weren't any targets left hanging by then.

Punching holes in paper does make for a good day. It rained here today, but I have tomorrow off and I just bought some 6.5 x 55 to punch a few of my own.

So long as the rounds hit some part of the paper , remember, the Soviets didn't make these to be precision instruments, only the Finn's did that.
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.
Don't hit at all if it is honorably possible to avoid hitting; but never hit soft.

Your Remington shoots as good as mine does! Makes a shotgun look like a precision weapon :) I love my Remington but I'd never trust my life to it. Your VKT looks much better! The important thing is getting out to the range and enjoying the day.

I do better with the original trigger on that Remington. And I'm not so good with it yet either. BUT, as I do listen to suggestions, it will be a wonderful squeeze don't jerk the trigger trainer!

Well you can say that for sure.

Soviet specs for a rifle to be serviceable:

4 shots fired, all must fit inside of 150mm circle at 100 metres.

Finnish specs with m/39:

10 shots fired. 8 shots must fit inside of 70mm circle at 150 metres.

Any day on the range is a good day!

p.s. There were No Rain Days on the Parris Island rifle ranges in 1966 only humid ones...Excuse the water on the firing lines. There is a War on you know in SEA... :angry4:

You'll get use to the water :devil2:

I have a '41 M91 Tikka and it flat shoots. I love the M39 but frankly I do have a 'thing" for the M91 Finn..........damn accurate rifle.
