Swede reloading

Post by Jbob »

Having fun reloading 6.5x55 for my Swede rifles. Picked up several hundred 140 grain Hornady HPBT bullets and went to the range yesterday to try out several test loads ranging from 36 to 40 grains of IMR 4064. I'm just learning and it amazing how much the small changes can make. After seeing that 37 grains shot the best group the friend who's helping me said now try 36.5 and 37.5 loads...
Thinking it can't get better back to the range I went to show 36.5 not so good but the 37.5 tighten up even more to a quarter size group at 50 yards.... Not to bad for a 101 year old rifle, open sights and a half blind old guy shooting.
