m27rv

Post by mossy33oak »

I hope I'm not breaking any rules here since I'm not posting a link to a current auction. But I was curious to see people's thoughts about the m27rv that is currently for sale online.I know they say something is only worth what people are willing to pay. Is the $4,500 price tag fair?

About $1000 above market pricing. Those that sold "recently" were in the $3300-$3500 range

It been up for a few months now.

If he wanted to sell it, he would let the bidding find the high price.

Yep, he just keeps relisting it waiting for the day some rich sapsucker takes it off his hand. Or some guy that just got told by his doctor he has 1 month to live.

If I got that news Russell I wouldn't be buying an old bolt rifle, I would need a nice machine gun, you know, to help dispatch the 46 people who need to expire before I do :)
When it comes to listing prices one should remember the words of the great Burgess Meredith

Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.
Don't hit at all if it is honorably possible to avoid hitting; but never hit soft.

I may be crazy, but doesn't the recess in the stock for the bolt look a little odd?

That particular gun is on display on the 7.62x54.net site. I am not sure of the serial number range whether it is correct or not. Maybe someone else has more data pertaining to the correct serial numbers for the 27rv.

Go to 7.62.54r.net site and then to the Mosin Nagant Virtual Musem, scroll down to m27rv Cav. rifle and you will see that rifle in great detail.
