FFL Class 3 C&R License

Post by paul6892 »

I have mailed my application, finger print card, passport photo and a $30.00 money order
to ATF in Atlanta GA. for my FFL Class 3 C&R License.

How long will it take the ATF to process the application and mail the FFL Class 3 C&R License to me :?:

When did C&R application start requiring photo and fingerprints? I got mine December of last year and all it took was mailing in the application and $30 (took less than 3 weeks to turn around, BTW).

Now you mention it, for the C&R I never did fingerprints or photos. For the form 1's and form 4's I did fingerprints and the photos.

Fingerprints .....yes
Photo ...... no
Passport ...... no

I have a CA COE and it did not require a photo, just prints.

03FFL only requires a form and $30

Paul,
You applied for a class 3 FFl license, not a 03FFL curio and relics license :) A class 3 is for full auto and short barreled rifles sale.

Class 3 is a tax stamp for Title II, NFA firearms. Full auto, SBR and suppressors etc. Theses are sold by Type 01 FFL with a class 3 tax stamp. The class 3 tax is $500 per year on top of the 01 FFL fees.

C&R licenses are Type 03 FFL.

Paul, what forms did you mail off? A C&R is a basic form with instructions on how to fill it out and what additions forms to send.

No, a "C&R 03FFL" license is not a "Class 3" license . A Class 3 license is a full auto license (added stamp to a 01FFL). Two different licenses.

You gave the link to the website for the "Class 3" license. That is what caused the confusion.

You also said you did finger prints and "passport photo", not passport "type" photo. Your words. That is for a class 3 license, not a 03FFL license.

I though you were going to start collecting machine guns. :bellylaugh:

oops. You're right. No photo for the COE. Just prints. Doesn't that just make it confusing. A type 3 and type 03. Sheesh. I followed the step by step here. information/CandR/index.html
