Guy asking 270... trigger pull slack almost to the end before tension than fires... is that normal? Bluing maybe 85 percent minor scuffs on wood... bore hard to see looks dirty...

Any M39 under $300 is pretty rare these days, I think the problem with the trigger pull is minimal if any at all. Most of these bores clean up well. Good luck on your decision.

At that price I would be buying it no matter what name is on the barrel shank, triggers, if there is a problem, can be fixed.

Sounds like a, "two-stage" trigger. Long take up and a crisp break. Finns did this to a lot of rifles. If bolt matches, that's a good buy.

I agree. Since the price is already under $300, offer him $250.

Is there a question here? Just kidding. If you like the look get it. Some people like lots of original blue. I more favor 50% or less. But like them all

Offer the 250 but still take it at 270, is what I would do. Best of luck.

He went from $325 to $270.... he wouldn't budge lower... broke it down at the show...

SA...VKT...D...serial number...1944
Tang date 1897
Bolt matches barrel...
Floorplate doesn't match... buttplate no serial number...
Side of the barrel says 33VKT00...XXXX on a serial number than correct serial number under it...
Trigger pull he told me it's military 2 stage that's why it goes all the way back than has tension than clean break,,,is that normal?

Trigger is normal, 1897 makes this a non firearms under US federal law, no FFL needed to transfer it, no paperwork. That alone adds $50 or more to it's value on GB, I hope you bought it.

The trigger on my 1944 VKT M39 behaves the same way. Does not negatively impact accuracy.

well here it is... There is some dings and and has lots of character with toe splice and couple plugged holes and so on not a perfect stock... Just telling you cause for some reason in the pic it looks perfect lol... Here is what I bought...

And question is it normal that the barrel in the front looks like its free floating? I can move the barrel up and down and side to side... not a lot just alittle...Image

So I noticed from the other m39's the handguard and the bottom stock would usually fit snug against the barrel leaving no gap and I don't see at all pics of a free floating one especially like mine so I was worried if bubba got to it... But couldn't understand why my barrel is shifted all the way to the left touching the wood and a huge gap on the right... Than I noticed this... look next pic...
Image

When I took the mag out the barrel went back to the middle... when I put the mag back in which goes in snug the barrel shifts back all the way to the left... as you see in the pic on the side, looks like some kind of cardboard that was glued or something and on the other side there is nothing but might look alittle sanded?...

What are your thoughts... Is this also considered a shim?

Disturb nothing and range test the rifle, remember, these rifles last use was as a marksmanship training tool, tweaking rifles is nothing new in Finland. Endless hours on the range trying new things to see what will make the rifle shoot .5 MOA at 100 yard down from 1MOA or less.
