Cheapskate Russians
Cheapskate Russians
So this has been sitting under the tree for a couple of weeks:
I finally got to open it
One case of Factory 60 1979 dated ammo, but look at that crate, talk about cheap! Particle board top and bottom, AND both the handles are broken. How am I supposed to use it for anything????

You can make new ones from any cheap piece of pine 2x4
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

My last crate I had to open with a crowbar so I understand the feeling :\. Great present !
I'm broke because I buy milsurps. I'm rich because I buy what I enjoy.

Awww, you can rebuild and fortify the box. It's the goodies inside that count

Re: Cheapskate Russians
My rifle crate is holding rifles, the other rifle crate is holding tools. Ammo crates of every size, for all kinds of ammo from across the world hold everything. Tools, 78rpm records, odd lots of ammo, gun parts, car parts, nuts/bolts/nails, ingots of lead, finished bullets, bullet molds, and a hell of a lot of other shit. I have crates from Bulgaria, Romania, Turkey, England, Nazi Germany, Russia, Czechoslovakia, Grease, The US, several South American countries, Portugal, South Africa, and others I don't remember.Gunowner99 wrote:Anyone?

The 50's Yugo 8mm comes in a nicely made crate. It's got hinges and a latch. It sits on top of my safe and gets used for random parts and stuff.

What is wrong with that? It will burn just like all the others I have owned over the years or sit on the trash can just like others. Bill

Re: Cheapskate Russians
as I am a "cluttered" person I will accept my lumps. BUT (yes, the big but) that particular mess in the background belongs to my wife. All her boxed up "pretties" and stuff that she won't let me spend $20 a month for a storage unit on!! But I think I need to redouble my efforts there for more Mosin space!!

I ran across a guy on Facebook who stumbled onto a full crate of that Yugo Mosin ammo and 2 rifles, 1 sporterized, the other a Refurb 91/30 and he got it all for 60.00!

Re: Cheapskate Russians
I am a crate lover. I bought this parachute flare crate from my friend who took a chance and thought I might like it when he found it at an estate sale. I love it. WWII dated.

Kind of like an egg. The container, once opened is useless but the contents are 100% wonderful!husker51 wrote:That is sad but the good stuff is still inside!!!
Damn, I'll bet that's going to leave a mark! Probably hurt too!
