Spam Can Prices
Spam Can Prices
I went to my LGS last weekend and bought a spam can of 440 rounds for $119... saw the same prices at a gun show same weekend... is this reasonable?

Re: Spam Can Prices
It's not all that bad really. I buy my surplus 7.62x54R at RGUNS because they are only about 45 minutes away from me. They are a importer and they are charging $90 a spam can or $175 for a 880rd case; so a $30 surcharge from the guy renting the table at your local show, or paying the rent at your local shop, and paying the shipping before he can receive it to bring it to said show or sell it in said shop doesn't sound bad to me at all.

Here's what it's going for online. http://gun-deals.com/list/ammo/7.62x54Rtide72 wrote:I went to my LGS last weekend and bought a spam can of 440 rounds for $119... saw the same prices at a gun show same weekend... is this reasonable?

Re: Spam Can Prices
To someone who can remember paying $25 for a spam can $119 is horrifying, but that was then, this is now, nothing to do but pay it, or don't shoot.
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

DANG thats a lot!!!. I just took delivery of another 880rds. 157.00 plus 26 to ship....two days to my door. UPS monkey cracked my crate by dropping it in the porch...just heard a thud!! then the door bell. Looked out the window to see the monkey running back to the truck and zooming off. 440rds are going for $78. The deals are out there do your research. Slickguns.com is a good starting resource as well as the one listed above.

Re: Spam Can Prices
It just depends on how you look at it. I knew someone was gonna proclaim how high that is, but even though you can find it cheaper online that still isn't bad as far as ammo prices go. That's 5.41 per box of 20. If I needed ammo quick I'd do it, then I would get stocked up on the 57.00 plus shipping online stuff.

SGAmmo was $100 to my door. I think if I could find it for $119 local I would get it.

There is a huge pawn shop a few minutes away from me that sells 120$ a can or 240$ a crate.

That does not seem too out of line to me these days.
Re: Spam Can Prices
One of my local gun shops has crates for $189 so it's beats anything online after you add on shipping.

I prefer the pawn shop anyway because I have a little under a year until I'm 21 so I couldn't even buy ammo from most places online yet.

Re: Spam Can Prices
How much is the tax on that or is that price including tax. This is $185.90 for a crate of 880rds delivered to your door. http://www.sgammo.com/product/surplus/8 ... wood-cratesgtheindl wrote:One of my local gun shops has crates for $189 so it's beats anything online after you add on shipping.
There's other deals a bit cheaper with free shipping coupon codes.

Sportsmanguide has been 175 for a crate with the free shipping coupon. I'm holding out for 160, maybe 165. Looks like sportsman guide is up to 185 for non members now.

Re: Spam Can Prices
I'm ok with $100 for 440 round can including shipping. The ones I buy from don't send rusty cans.
By the way, nice link for the ammo. Will try when I'm low.
