S&W k22 question
S&W k22 question
I have my grandfathers k22 he received upon retirement. Butt of the pistol is stamped k 631XX. I x'd out the last two numbers but can anybody ballpark the year of production.

There was also a K22 Outdoorsman (1st model) that was manufactured from 1931 to 1940 with serial numbers 632124 thru 682419 and a K22 Masterpiece (2nd Model) made 1940-1941 very rare. The K22 Masterpiece (postwar 3rd Model) became model 17 in 1957 they were made 1946 to 1989. The K22 Combat Masterpiece was manufactured from 1949 to 1985 in 1957 it became the model 18 does your revolver have a model number stamped on the frame visible when the cylinder is open? There are several models of K22's
