High grade 7.92 ammo, which one?

Post by 54r man »

So for a high grade 8mm mauser round which one would you choose? Hornady vintage match, PPU 8mm match ammo, S&B 196gr FMJ or Yugo M75? All input appreciated!

What are you going to use it for? I will say that Hornady is excellent ammunition
Damn, I'll bet that's going to leave a mark! Probably hurt too!

If I want high grade 8mm Mauser ammo I would make it myself.
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

Not quite set up to reload, getting there but not yet. Of course I always pickup the brass anyway, but can't reload as of yet.

Get a box of each of the match ammo and give it a try. Once you find which shoots better in your rifle, try to get some of the same lot. (Typically the store you got it from will have more of that lot) Keep us posted.
