I'm here

Post by boomer34 »

Just joined. I am mostly interested in collectable Russians. Have two Norincos but they are altered. My Russians are not. I have been in the SKS world for over two years.

Welcome aboard Boomer34. Glad to have you here and glad to hear those Russians are "unaltered" We frown on that here  We do however, love pictures. There are a great bunch of guys and gals here who share that preservation of historical firearms. :alien:

Norinco makes, or sells new made firearms for the commercial market, these are not milsurps. Mosins are milsurps, and real piecies of history, welcome to the forum. :vcool: :vcool: :vcool:
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

Boomer my friend, I am so glad to see you join here. Your vast knowledge of the Russians and guidance on purchasing
one will soon be noticed and appreciated here. Several of us you have known for quite some time now. A number of
the migrants here do have a different name and Avatar than you are used to seeing. But, they will let you know who they are here now.

Just so everyone knows. Boomer in the past has been doing a lot of work tracking the asking price vs selling prices on Russian SKS.
Don't know if he still is or not. I will tell you that Boomer is more up to date on pricing of any condition Russian SKS than anyone I know.
He is totally dedicated to finding and preserving Russians as well as helping other members do the same. He is considered as a Russian
GURU, period, on a less dedicated to preservation board. A very prominent person in the Russian SKS world!

When I started collecting my Russians, this is the man I went to then and still do today. He taught me what to look for, especially on one some seller says is non-refurb, new, unfired, unissued, or original. The common garbage descriptions. I do not think I have bought one Russian for my collection without consulting him on what to look for, what I may have missed on a pic, etc. Thanks to help from Boomer, I have almost got a Grand Slam of Russian SKS rifles. At very
affordable and under market pricing on most of them. Could not have done so by myself!.

Boomer will try to help any member here who is sincere in wanting a Russian and I have never known him to refuse unless it was someone who wanted to Bubba Russian.

Welcome aboard, Mr Boomer! Have we met before? :D

Now, when you get a chance, your local gunshop should have a crate of Mosins to pick through, and then you can find out what the original 7.62 boomer-stick is all about!
No words of wisdom come to mind at this time....
