Dou44, it did come with that safety on it when I bought it. (last year I think?) I had questioned it, cause I didn't know what it was. The rifle was marked $189 , so needless to say, it came home with me, after I found out it wasn't some bubba modification.

I left out my VZ-24 since it's not technically a K98, but the action on it is like butter. I think the Czechs probably made the smoothest mausers around. I could find it in the dark.

I have 2 24/47s and a turk but they are not the K98s either...No safety needed on mosin, In Russia gun shoots you!!

Got four K98k's but you will have to wait until the home PC is up and running to see them. Or search the olf Archives, they were all posted on the old board.

From the top, can you elaborate on #2 & #7! They are the ones that caught my eye immediately. They are all just amazing.
