I am Having an Issue with my Baby

Post by BIGChris454 »

My Mosin is a great rifle. Very accurate, more so than most, but the last time I took her out I had repeated FtF on the final round. It just wont feed. I suspect a weak spring in the mag well. I was wondering how pricey/ difficult it is to get a replacement for her, Or if you know of any other ways to correct the problem. I figured I would start here, seeing as my last issue, Interuptor spring was bad, I was able to fix myself after some helpful advice. Thanks in advance.

Our sponsor, Liberty Tree Collectors has the parts you need. Go to the top of the Mosin Nagant forum page and you will see the link.

Swap it out and see what happens.
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.
Don't hit at all if it is honorably possible to avoid hitting; but never hit soft.

You mean "Liberty Tree" Collectors... I don't think they specialize in collecting trees  8-)

OP - I would swap the mag spring/floorplate assembly with another mosin and see what happens. If you don't have one available to try, then I also suggest the same as the others did. Buy a replacement from LTC.

Yeah, that's what I meant but was unable to communicate effectively at 4:00 A.M. this morning.

Will do guys, thanks. I actually just got off that site. Stuff is cheap on there. The entire follower and spring assembly is on $12.
