I Did It! Finally!

Post by Wolf308 »

OK, I didn't share this information before, but as much as I love the Mosins... I was scared to death to shoot one. The second rifle I ever fired - many moons ago - was an M44. I hurt myself with it, because of my own inexperience and stupidity at the time. So while I fell in love with the rifle, I was scared to death to shoot it. But I've come a long way since then and have shot many, many huge rifles that make this look like a pea shooter. But memories die hard, what can I say!

I finally did it today! And better yet, I was slamming rounds into a tree stump 175 yards away with just iron sights. I've never even had the chance to shoot that far before, let alone with a Mosin. So I was giddy when we left, and the Mosinitus has been confirmed. LOL!

I have video, but I don't want to step on toes with it. My boss took the video for our shop's website, so he mentions the name of the shop and all. Unless the moderators are OK with that, I'm going to refrain from posting the actual video. But here's some stills from it:

That's cool. Nice shooting too. Consistently hitting a stump at 175 yards offhand is WAY good shooting in my opinion.

Go ahead and post the video, looks like a good time was had. My pistol shooter friends who never shot high powered rifles before ( or any rifles) cried like babys when the US M1903 pounded their tender little shoulders last year, but for some reason loved shooting the 91/59 carbine.

And the latest bit of good news... brought it home tonight, finally! It's in making nicey nice with the round receiver Mosin. Plotting world domination together, no doubt.

Maybe they'll reproduce and have a little m44 carbine for you. You'll love a m44 I think :)
