What was this rifle, a mouse hunt all over the house for it's parts?

yea kinda was :)

I'm not sure yet why this rifle was abandoned but it looks to me it was an unfinished project by my great grandfather. It all fits together and the firing pin works with a dry fire. missing a seat spring (the front spring under the trigger bar that let the bolt go) tho. Found a couple syth stocks locally that I might pick up and throw it in. Think I might try to get it working first then take it all apart re-blue and make it all perrrrrrdy. We shall see

more pics ! (red arrow points to missing spring location )

cool thanks. Man I wish they had a stock for small chambered mausers. Even If they did they would prob want a ton for it O well.

Please no links to live auctions, they aren't paying rent here. The Swedish Mauser is a small ring action, but these stocks are all off full length milsurps, too long for your rifle, and the barrel channels are probably too small. Your best bet in that new sporter stock, it has an enlarged barrel channel for full floating sporter barrels, it should have no problems handling the M1903 barrel on your rifle.

oops sorry. now I know.

Ya guess I just need a authentic Mauser one day. After I get 91/30 number 2 :)

Well thanks again for tolerating my endless and often ignorant questions.

To the gun show tomorrow .......

Of course if it was a show I hit around here all you would see would be a pic of a half eaten hot dog.
