Strangely enough some of my oldest ex dragoons have excellent bores, I mean like new, 1921, 1922,Izhevsk, several of the 1925-1928 Izhevsk and Tulas, both issued and unissued rifles. It could be that they had been posted to Siberia or some other place were they weren't fired much. This doesn't mean I don't have some equally nice bores in the 1930-1944 rifles, I do, and some worn ones as well, but you would think the older rifles would be more worn, but that's not always the case.
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.
