dolk wrote:Carbines are out there. You just have to "look" for them. If you are waiting for them to come to AIM, J&G or that type of dealer in quantities, then you will have to wait for a while. They are not imported at the present time. They may in the future have M44's. We saw that just last month with the batch of Molot M44's. They were from Russia.

But they are there and I will look somemore. But I see them almost everyday, but I'm not giving up my sources! ;mywink;

A couple days ago Dolk posted a link to some carbines for sale on another site. I checked that link just now and it appears there are some of them still for sale, including a M38 with the correct stock. I wont repost the link, but anyone should be able to search for it.

Racing great Roger Penske said for years Luck is a combination of preperation and effort. Things are there if you just look at and read things carefully. Bill :wink:

With how prices have changed, if you're looking for something specific its going to be expensive unless you have a horseshoe in your arse, in historical Mosin terms. I justified mines higher than usual price by saying I'll skip one fancy dinner, and be happy with it forever. Or on the other hand, its still a lot cheaper than the lever guns I was looking at. I didn't tell the missus that :)

Hit the pawn shops on a regular basis. Three weeks ago, I bought a nice all matching '47, East German marked M-44 at a pawn shop for $175.00.

:lol: :thumbsup:

That's a nice lineup there!

I got the "I like how the wood looks antique-y on that one" on my M44. I didn't tell her how much it was since she knew the last one was $145. I'll take it!

If I had "carbine fever" I would snag one of the Chinese ones before their prices start up. $100.00 +/- for a T-53 is a good deal.

I may have to head back to the feedmill & see if there are anymore Mosin's, Mausers & Enfields left. I bought an M44 last year for $120 & he still had lots' left. Prices may have stayed the same.

Thanks! Sure glad I am on the Empire Arms e-mail list. Never would have gotten it otherwise. The ones on Gunbroker are just WAY too expensive.

Dennis has been pretty reasonable lately. The carbine prices are really fair. You are very welcome Tom. :thumbsup: I will keep an eye out for a m38 for you but they are hard to find here. Last one i have seen was 3 years ago...well i guess that would be everyday now. :lol:

Note that mine and all of the other M38s except for one have the M44 stock. So they aren't "pure" M38s. They are M38 rebuilds with M44 stocks. :)
