Nice looking Romanian, they have a distinctive stock color, nice low serial number as well. Cool :)

Thanks JYD,the local gun store took it in on trade and had just put it in the rack when my wife and I arrived,walked out the door with it for $149 including tax.Its not counterbored,and is a very good shooter,I'm very pleased.

Looks like it missed the 'C' or 'D' in the prefix and the just went with it.

wished I'd kept all the Romanians I got early on from the Century U-Fix-Em pile. thats a good looking weapon and glad it shoots well also.

Holy carp!

The 1953 is a very low production year, and very few of them are found in matching fonts. Does it have the Romanian stock (large flat on rear comb area, 1, 2 or 3 stamped on top in front of buttplate, other Romanian cartouches)?

If this one is also all Romanian parts, you have a carbine that is worth $200 or more than you paid. Nice!

Thanks everyone for your warm replies,I greatly appreciate them!

Martin,I checked the stock,and yes,it has a 3 stamped in front of the buttplate and a couple cartouches on the stock. I will post pictures of them after I have my photographers (wife and son) take the pictures.
