My Father in Law has this nice little single shot, bolt action .22cal. He brought it down to let me take some pictures of it. Enjoy !!

Sweet! It bares a strong resemblance with a mosin :). Very cool

Let me make a short, open, blanket comment. There are no good guns. There are no bad guns. Any gun in the hands of a bad man is a bad thing. Any gun in the hands of a descent person is no threat to anyone--- except bad people. -- Charleton Heston

Guns are not good, they are not evil. Save those descriptions for the people holding the firearm. -- Unknown

That .22 is too cool for words! I take that one to be for commercial sales, but wonder if it may have also been a military trainer type as well?

A little late to jump on this thread. But I just got almost the same rifle but, instead of "The Improved New Century" on the barrel it says
"The Mosiur Rifle" all other markings are the same as this one. And of course the bolt is missing.
Anyone got some info on my Mosiur Rifle

Nice rifle. It reminded me of a J.C. Higgins that my wife inherited.

I picked up a .17 cal. rifle and 500 rounds of .17 Mach 2 ammo for it to wipe out the hundreds of gophers on my property. That little rifle and the .17 cal. ammo is just the right combo. to do justice to the gopher population on my place.

Gophers? Thats like a giant rat of some sort isn't it? Our gophers are mostly collage kids hired by the local country clubs to do things like fetch drinks, a pack of smokes, or a snack for the members during the summer months. Taking them out as they trot around the golf course sounds kind of harsh, but whatever is cheap and keeps you entertained couldn't be all bad, right?

Yes, a gopher is a small rodent that in my neighborhood digs holes that make it difficult to mow lawns and other places where they are not wanted. Many people trap or poison gophers by the hundreds to get rid of the unwanted messes they create. During my high school days I was a go for many times on construction crews. I did a lot of "go for" this or go for that for about a dollar an hour and was glad for the "go for" job and happy to do the work. Although it did teach me one of the jobs I didn't want to do for the rest of my life.
