Two family heirloom .22 rifles

This Stevens Favorite 1894 and Winchester 1902 are currently working on their fourth generation in my family. These were acquired by my great great grandfather, and based on what I've been told he got them sometime between 1900 and 1912. They have been in my possession for about 2 years, still function good, although the Winchester will beat the Stevens hands down in accuracy. I myself, have put many rounds through the Winchester as a young kid, it was the rifle I learned on. Much like a milsurp rifle having a history, I wonder about all the family events and other little quirky things these saw. Even the wear and tear is all family induced. It was quite an honor to end up with both, but hopefully they will make it further down the line after I'm gone.

Looks like both are made to fire 22 longs. Those are very nice family hand me downs. That receiver on the Stevens is a serious chunk of steel.

That stevens 1894 is about the nicest .22 I have ever seen what a great family heirloom the 1902 Winchester is pretty awesome as well.

Thanks, the Stevens is showing it's age bore wise, it more or less patterns now, the bore is very worn. The Winchester still gets the job done, it took two groundhogs last spring.

There's a family heirloom winchester 1902 in my family too. My dad has it right now, when it eventually comes to me it will be at least the 4th generation in this family that I know of. I borrow it from him whenever I'm teaching someone new to shoot. I learned to shoot on it, so I figure it should be a good intro to the sport.

I love .22s. My first was a Sears and Roebuck lever action. Dont remember what year but it was awsome.

It's a Glenfield Golden 50, basically a special edition Model 65 semi-auto, fun, accurate and reliable - with the right ammo, it DOES NOT like the Wally World bulk packs!



The scope is a Glenfield 4x15 that I believe came with the rifle when it was new.

I love the Marlin 60 based rifles. Here is another one of mine, my first semiauto, a Marlin Model 99. These were the predecessor of the Model 60, these were made from '59 to '61, the Model 60 started production in '60.
