Was re-taking pics for my bound book & had to post one of my favorites. Picked it up from AIM back in 07' for a penance of what they go for now. An Oberndorf arsenal dated 1938. Numbers matching on Barrel, stock, Receiver & electropenciled bolt. Non-matching on magwell & plate. Intact Eagles, cleaning rod & gorgeous red laminate stock. The bore is a Mirror & this thing will nail a Gnats @$$ at 200 yards if I do my part. Put a repro sling on it as well... Not as much character as an original sling but I have been unwilling to part with the funds necessary to acquire one.Haven't had it out to the range in a while... May have to bring it again before the snow flies.

Same time that I got mine, remember when we had lists of these to pick from? When we could pick the numbers, and the bore condition? That couldn't last, not with the K98k

I was wanting a Russian capture when I found my Czech k98 instead. They look almost identical but with less red in the stock. I still need to shoot mine, haven't got to it yet.

That is one outstanding example of a K98, the markings are as crisp and clean as you can get, nice, really nice rifle. The quality rifle I have been searching for.
