Stay away from the blue water, there's thing sin there you don't want to see. :)
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.
Don't hit at all if it is honorably possible to avoid hitting; but never hit soft.

Oh, you will stop, that's guarantee, how you will stop is the question, the brakes work or you slam into something turning yourself into the human cannonball flying over, or through the windshield  The trick to driving the T is to drive it as if it has no brakes, every move you make on the road must be thought out well in advance. Mine has the improved brakes, this meant a larger internal transmission brake drum, and larger rear E brakes that actually work for more than hill holding the car. In it's day the Model T rarely would have found roads good enough to even do 25 mph let alone it's top speed of 45 mph so the brakes were considered adequate for the time.

Easy, parked the car in the middle of my range, shut it off, stood up and aimed the gun over the top of the windshield and blasted a cardboard box to bits about 20 feet in front of the car. I was testing something I had read about involving a military Model T and the hunt for Mexican bandits in 1916. It's not hard to shoot that way from a standing car, but one running across rough terrain, that I am not going to try as I would have to train someone to drive the car while I blasted away.
