My guess would be that the seller thinks someone will give him that much for it. If there is something special about it the seller should have stated what that is in the description, but as many eBay sellers are he has given next to no information about it. These are the sellers I avoid, try gunbroker.com for a bayonet, eBay is not a gun friendly place.
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

In the description it says new, but in the pics you can see it has been ground down where the numbers go

It's just a refurbished bayonet like the 60 or so in the closet behind me.

If people are bidding that high it is because they just didn't spend any time looking around for cheaper bayonets, hell add another fifty bucks or so and you can get the entire rifle with bayonet, sling and tools. It has a Tula star on it, but them so do about half of mine.

Somebody got bent over on that deal.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

Could the prices be that much different in Canada? The seller is in Canada. Don't know about the winner.
