Can't wait to see all of it Chuck. 8-)
“Freedom is the right to tell people what they do not want to hear.” George Orwell, English novelist, essayist, and critic, 1903-1950

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

I don't know what it is, but it says US PROPERTY. As a professional Law Enforcement Officer, I'm afraid you are illegally in possession of stolen property. We can clear all this up if you just ship it to me and I can make sure that your cooperation is noted.

Extremely Enfield challenged, here. But I'll say that I like it anyway.

Is it a Savage or a Stevens?

a square S is Savage and the bare S is Stevens

Stevens has made some receivers but I have yet to see one. The typical is Savage and if you look at the S marked parts you'll notice they mostly came from Savages sister plant... Stevens.

It's going to be Monday for the actual show and tell. This has chunks of cosmoline dried on it that almost needs a chisel to remove it. I bought this to upgrade my Enfield collection, there will be an Enfield Savage on the market soon for you deprived.
