PU scope mount

Post by Irish51 »

Do y'all consider installing a PU scope mount on a 91/30 an alteration to one that does not originally have one ? Do not to break any rules, so checking first. Thanks.

Yes that is altering. We don't condone that. It is refreshing to see you read the rules and asked. Thanks.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

It would be a destruction of a perfectly good Standard M91/30 and would be worth only what it's parts would bring.

M91/30 is a piece of history. drilling it in any way (or altering it) is a sad day and your investment will go down in value.

To me, it would take a rifle purchased for around $100 4 or 5 years ago and make it worth nothing (to me and most collectors) now.
