Hi
I am new to this forum, normally I collect german K98, I don't know much of the Mosin Nagant.
I am able to bid on a Mosin Nagant M38, from 1941 with a PU scope mounted.
The bolt has been altered to to clear the scope, I am asking if this could be a wartime modification or not.
I am just thinking if this has been done post war, why is the finish so crude, it is not able to fool anybody to belive that this is "original"?
Please share your opinions.

My guess is Bubba.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

Creation of Bubba using legit or repop 91/30 PU sniper parts.
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

They never made a M38 sniper rifle.

Thank you for the answers, I didn’t buy it, since it was not original.
I’ll keep looking and reading this nice forum.
