M44 Carbine Markings

Post by SHOCKY101 »

Hello, I was wondering if anyone could give me any information on some of the markings on my 1945 M44 Carbine, I was curious to know what they all mean and why it might have so many of them. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

The last one shows the receiver is a 1945 Izhevsk (Arrow in triangle) made one, the r after 1945 stands for year or god depending on which site you look at.

The numbers on the bottom of the barrel could be assembly numbers.

The rest are inspection and proof marks, the meaning of most and who from lost to history. Link to a Knowledgebase section of the forum, it shows some markings but not all.
