PE or PU?

Post by Ghost07 »

I am looking for a Mosin Nagant sniper rifle and would really appreciate any advice from the experts as my knowledge is limited. I am looking for an original condition rifle which is correct and in good condition. I have no interest in an imported rifle which someone assembled when imported. I have 2 questions. First what is a fair price for both a PE and PU in this condition? Finally from an investment perspective which would be the best to purchase. Thanks so much for your help.

PE's are very hard to find and if you do, they will be expensive.

PU will go for $1,00 and up.
Won't find an"original condition" one unless you are looking out of Russia". Maybe a Yugo or something.
If you do, you better have some "deep pockets".

Most of the Russian PU's have been refurbished in the Russia in their arsenals. That is OK.

Some have scopes replaced, that's OK

Some are "fakes" or "reproduction" and in my opinion only worth the "parts" on them. With a drop in the value of the receiver because someone drilled it for the scope. In my opinion, worth nothing.

Before you buy, either post it here to make sure it is "real" or contact myself or Miller Tyme by email or PM.

+1, Darryl pretty much cover it, now you need to do some reading, set a realistic budget, and don't jump on " bargins" as 99% of them are not legit.

I haven't been on this forum for long... Unfortunately, I will only get my "needs card" in about 2 weeks and then the offices will come! My sniper rifle cost me about 1000.00 euros here in Germany. According to the stamp of 1943!! It's up to a friend at the moment... He is a hunter and is allowed to own many weapons here. Greeting wickmac Top
