I just received the rifle that I won at auction a week (or so) ago. Auction photos were not very good. They showed full length photo of rifle, barrel markings, cut forend, and stock cartouche. Due to the look of the stock finish, and the 1928 stock cartouche, I took a chance the rifle was all matching--and it is.
It's ALMOST all original, with the exception of the cleaning rod.
Stock has original finish. No import markings. Muzzle is not counter bored. I cannot see the bore because a piece of packing foam is blocking the bore.
I don't know how the rifle entered the country. The action, bore, and magazine are packed with preservative grease.
I am glad my gamble paid off. I expected the auction bidding to go fairly high. Surprisingly, I had the highest bid at $300 ($369 after fees and taxes). Shipping was over half the cost of my winning bid.

You have a really nice one. I have a 1928 Tula Ex-Dragoon M91/30; it is my favorite Mosin Nagant in the small collection.

“Freedom is the right to tell people what they do not want to hear.” George Orwell, English novelist, essayist, and critic, 1903-1950
Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.
C. S. Lewis
