M-1 Garand range time

Post by steelbuttplate »

I tried out the '72 Greek ammo I posted about, good stuff. I fired 4 rounds from each rifle and did some sight adjustment. I had trouble seeing thru the sight on the '45 so cleaned it out with a torch tip file when I got home. That '42 probably needs to go to a match at Taladega.

“Freedom is the right to tell people what they do not want to hear.” George Orwell, English novelist, essayist, and critic, 1903-1950

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

60 yards?
Move it out a bit. That rifle should be pretty accurate (and deadly) out further.
Mine are for sure.
Nice rifles!

. I can get 85 yd. at my spot where I shoot,,it's the one place I don't get hassled by anyone. NC Wildlife won't build us a range here, the only county in the West end of the state that doesn't have a range, and we are 82% govt. land.
