Extreemly rare M39 to find!!!

Post by Darryl »

Finnish M39 "Tikka" Tikkakoski
7.62 x 54r Cal.
1897 Izhevsk receiver
[SA] Marked

YES, that is the correct stock and finish for a TIKA M39.

I walked in to my local gun shop and some rifle had just come in.
A woman brought in about 10 rifles because her husband passed away.
I'm sure the owner gave her next to nothing for them.
As I have bought a few used rifles from him, I usually get a good price.

I looked them over and there really was nothing I wanted except at the end.
The shop owner said, "that one is not for sale because it is in parts.
He said the woman said the rifle was in process (by her husband and on his bench) to refinish the "dry old stock"!
He had it completely disassembled.

There is one "part" missing. Can anyone find it? ;mywink;
Hint, it's not a major part! :chuckles:

I asked why it was not for sale and the shop owner said, well, it is disassembled and if he had it put together, then he would have to have it checked by a "gunsmith" for liability reasons (his insurance company requirements). That would be too much $. So, I asked him, "how much for all the PARTS"? He said, $200. I bought it. Got it home and put it back together and fired it myself.

Lucky, he did not get his hands on the stock yet. It is just as it was sold from Finald. Very hard to find, if you can find them at all.

Well, never been called that before but, ....thank you!

I haven't seen any Tika M39's in a very long time. Are there any out there?
Post them up!\

Personally, I think they may be the most rare of all the M39.

l don't see an interrupter.
“Freedom is the right to tell people what they do not want to hear.” George Orwell, English novelist, essayist, and critic, 1903-1950

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

Oops, the interupter is installed and was never removed. Only things he took off is things he had to in order to re-finish the stock.

Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.
