Hi, I'm Jim and a couple of years ago I spotted an M44 (1945) with a lam stock at a pawn shop and snatched it up...not because I was a huge fan of Mosins, (I had overlooked dozens of these rifles, but love older military weapons) but the lam stock made it stand out in the crowd, so to speak.

I cleaned and inspected it and then placed it in the gun safe where it had lived until a month ago when I decided to run some more sardine can rounds through it. I had been shooting an AR10 when I loaded the M44 and decided to fling a few rounds down course. After shooting that AR, this recoil on this gun seemed sooo smooth. I was pleasantly surprised and I ended up firing half dozen clips through it. The bolt was sticky some, but I have deep cleaned the chamber and the bolt and I suspect this will help immensely.

When I bought the rifle, I expected to keep it a couple of years, then sell or trade it off, but at this point, it has convinced me to keep it.

Looks to be a 1920 ex Dragoon made by Tula by the little hammer.

I have a 1891 westinghouse 1915. The guy at the gun show said to talk to you guys to see if this gun is one that never left the U.S. I dont know what that means but he said if it was (he thinks it is) then to make sure I buy the right parts that are missing. If you can help me please let me know what you need.

Make a new thread in the Collectible Mosins section and add pics. We shall see what we come up with.

I just joined the Mosin Nagant nation by recently adopting a 1925 Tula 91/30 all matching numbers that appears to have been never issued. I am looking forward to seeing it spit fire. I finished cleaning out nearly all of the Cosmo but a little continues to seep from under the rear site. Just keep wiping! I love the simplicity of the rifle. Thanks for having me!

Can we get information on the services for sending flowers, donations etc. Chuck was "Good People" and will be missed.......I'm sure his family would love to know how much he impacted a lot of lives here on the RMNF.

Hello, My name is Jim and I'm a new member from SC Pennsylvania. Although I have always collected US military surplus rifles, I always liked the look and history behind the Mosin-Nagant. At a recent auction I attended, no one seemed particularly interested in an 1907 dated Tula Arsenal M91. I always thought if I did buy a MN, I would want an early one made during the Imperial period. It seemed to me to have many of the early features so I took a chance. Slowly with the help of this forum I have been learning all I can about the various components. I am stumped however trying to decipher which stock cartouche I have on the right side buttstock. I apologize for the photo but the stock is quite worn and the mark is almost gone. Thought some of the experts here might be able to determine what it is. Any thoughts/ opinions would be appreciated. I'll try now to post a picture.
Thanks,
Jim

Hi,

New member here. I currently have a Russian 91/30 and a Chinese T53. My wife doesn't know that I just might've found a new hobby! That is until she checks the bank account...

Thank you for letting me join your board! I want to research the markings on the 91/30 which is new to me as of yesterday. I'm sure it's more-or-less the "plain Jane" model, but she shoots well and is matching except the bayonet.

New member here in Houston. I’ve had my Mosin for a couple years now, and it’s so damn much fun to shoot! I’m a big fan of C&R guns, and have quite a few. All of the usual suspects, SKS, Mosin, Tokarev, Makarov, M1951, as well as several old Remington rifles and shotguns. In the market for an old .22 now, either Remington or Winchester, but I’ve looked at some old Stevens and Savage models too. I’d rather spend the money on an old rifle than a new 10/22. Looking forward to seeing all the cool stuff y’all collect.
