Small Collection Growing
Hi ladies and gents. First post and new to the forum. Thought I share a few pictures of my small but growing collection of C&Rs (a dangerous license to have ). First is my 1944 Springfield M1 Garand, pretty much original as issued minus sling. Second is my 1943 Saginaw M1 Carbine that had an arsenal rebuild by Raritan Arsenal in NJ based on the cartouche. Looks like it was upgraded to Korean War specs. The oiler is original IS with a D sling I bought off a gentleman on cmp. The third rifle is my 1944 Sako M39 SKY. Based on the research done by Mosin.fi, the rifle was shipped from the Kainuu Civil Guard district to the Pielisjarvi Civil Guard district on April 22' 1944. On July 11, 1944, it was inspected Condition 0/10 "in order." Looks like it saw no service during the Continuation War which makes sense for only being made six months before the end of the conflict. Fourth and not pictures is a 1943 Izhevsk 91/30 that I haven't done any research on. Only thing of note is that I paid $89 for it in 2010 while waiting for the paperwork to get done on an AR . Anyhow, like I said this is my first post and I thought I'd share my modest collection with you all. Hope you enjoy!

Nice! And yes, close ups would be fun to check out.
Of this group, do you have a favorite at the range? And…what’s next on the list to acquire?

Thank you, I would say the m39 is my favorite at the range since everyone writes it off as a "cheap mosin" at military rifle matches until they how much of a tackdriver it is. Now my fellow range members have a lot more respect and perspective on mosins. I also have had a great time handloading this rifle to squeeze the most out of it. The m1 garand is also a favorite, everyone knows what it is when they see it and the experience of shooting it never disappoints. It was also the first C&R type rifle I bought back in 2009 and the first deep dive I took on research and finding one exactly how I wanted was a memorable experience.
Hopefully before the end of the year I will have a chance to acquire an Argentine FM FAP (their FAL) from the estate of a friend's friend. I'm not sure if its a standard FAP or their heavy barrel variant but either would be nice. After that, a prewar Mauser S/42, Springfield 1903, and a Swedish M38. However, if any opportunity arises that interests me for the right price I won't turn it down

Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

Great start.
