Pile of S&W

Post by steelbuttplate »

My S&W 38 spec on the right, three WW2 pistols center, two were British loan/lease pistols. left side is 32 longs and one 32 shortie with colt grips :vcool: I forget the Model 37 in my pocket, it didn't make the picture. The old .38 with stag grips is a mod. 1917 hand eject scrubbed of all writing and marks, except the butt which is 4 digit with a star. Call it a smoothbore, It's belonged to a hit man I betcha.

Too loud, and too messy, no professional would use a .45 to hit someone. .32, or .38 super, but .22 very popular. Nice grouping of S&W, Lend Lease, we lend it to you and then you give it back when the war's over. Funny how it didn't work that way, you still had to pay for what your grandparents tax money already paid for. :vcool: :vcool:
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.
Don't hit at all if it is honorably possible to avoid hitting; but never hit soft.

It's a .38 Sp. It just makes me wonder why scrub it ? The star on the butt strap shows a factory rework for the ramp sight and maybe re-blue.

I only said poor choice for a hit, but good choice for bank job, liquore store holdup were you want shock and awe to keep your live victims compliant. Scrubbing numbers is illegal, and was often attempted by criminals before it became common knowledge that the numbers could be lifted out of the metal by the FBI crime lab.

Hello,
Ha, So very true.
Yet, J. Hinkley wasn't a pro either... but, he choose the correct tool.
A little goes a long ways...as too say. It's all in the placement, "they say". But, that's a different story.... I would know nothing about. (we need a Mr. Potato Head smiley face)....
Oh, and very nice collection of vintage revolvers...
If only, they could tell their stories(some, look very used/handled).... The draw/attraction of collecting vintage firearms... Well, at least too me.
Yet, I'm a day dreamer...
