This nice piece arrived via FedEx Saturday morning:
Ordered it Friday and received it less than 24 hours later. The engineer’s bayonet was given to me years ago by a coworker who has since retired. The only defect is one piece of the bolt knob needs replacement. I’ll get around to getting ammo for it and the reloading dies eventually.
Congrats, I picked up one of these 6/7 yrs ago from Simpsons. They had a boat load of em back then, I picked one with some really nice depot repairs to the stock. Mine had the lighter colored stock. Hope it's not to hard to find the replacement bolt knob piece.
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.
Don't hit at all if it is honorably possible to avoid hitting; but never hit soft.

That is very nice. Those orange plastic or Bakelite or whatever they are knobs are often chipped and I had a source for them a few years ago but can’t remember now. They can be found
