Long Tom

Post by Robertroadking »

I have a Long Tom shotgun ( a real Long Tom, not just a goose gun)
Internet research shows these were made for Sears by Crescent, Meriden , Stevens and Savage , maybe more.
Some have the Long Tom name in Block Letters others have a fancy Western type of lettering.
Mine has the western script and is marked Arsenal Steel ,wich was a registered name for Crescent.
Does anyone else have this gun or interest in them?
Btw mine is 16 gauge, I will post pictures tomorrow.

I've got a 20 ga. posted on here as "the murder weapon". It is a Fulton, probably made by the same Co.

That looks like one of crescents guns, I read they would put any hardware store’s name on an order If they paid for the stamp.

Probably, tell better after I see the pictures. I have a lot of Crescent shotguns with various names on them.
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

Over the years, I have had several Crescent shotguns. The only similar one I have left is an old Forehand, also in .16 ga.

Forehand was associated with Hopkins and Allen

Wow they came with 36 or 40 inch barrels (Had to google it), and here I thought my GGF's old Iver Johnson Champion 12 Guage with a 32 inch barrel was long and unwieldy.
