Hi my name is Laurence also known as Shooter762. I've had lots of Mosins over the years but now I'm down to one refurbed 1944 datex M44 in a laminate stock.

Hi, I'm Tim. Thanks for adding me! I am an avid collector of firearms in general but I have a soft spot for soviet firearms. Currently, my soviet pieces include: 1942 Russian Izhevsk 91/30 (numbers matching with a bent bolt but never drilled and tapped); 1943 Russian Izhevsk 91/30; 1944 Russian Izhevsk M44; 1968 Yugo SKS; 1971 Yugo SKS; 1964 Romanian md63 AKM; and a 1994 md90 AKM side fold.
I look forward to learning more and discussing firearms with you guys!!

Post some pics Tim. I'm not gonna say anything about adding a M39 to that collection, it might turn you into a full bore addict.76TimX54r wrote: ↑Tue Jan 14, 2020 2:02 pm Hi, I'm Tim. Another newbie! Hello from Texas.
I have (and don't shoot them often enough):
I have (and don't shoot them often enough):
- three Mosins: two 91/30, one unidentified "carbine" (receiver markings: small diamond with "PW" over a "3", 1955, and a large "11", BR-prefix four-digit s/n, no cleaning rod hole)
- one Finnish M39, awesome shooter
- one Finnish M28/76, awesome shooter
- three SKS: two Yugoslav, one Chinese
Re: New Members, Make your first post here!
The 1955 Carbine is Polish.

Is it a .22? They also made M44s. Yes, I believe Radom.

Yeah, that is definitely a WZ-48. Looks to be a nice one.

Yes, I agree. Definitely not a bad looker. Nearly blemish-free; only the tiniest of a few little dings and one minor inch-long, shallow, fine scratch on the forestock. I was inspired to 'shoot' these photos this morning. Interesting diamond figure on the buttstock (is that OW or MO?). Now I wonder how it'll do as a shooter!?! Can't remember where or when I acquired this one, but I know I have never shot it. Anxious to get out to the range now, but it's pouring down rain at the moment, and I have eye surgery this afternoon, after which I'll be restricted in activity for a short while.

That is the same extractor as the JG Anshultz trainer that I had.

Hello all! My name is Tim, I recently joined and made another post telling of my collection and someone asked to put a picture up so here's a pic of my 3 Mosins. All 3 are Izhevsk made: 1942 91/30 all matching, bent bolt, never tapped or drilled; 1943 91/30 all matching; 1944 M44 all matching. Thank you!!

Thanks for accepting me! Just picked up my first Mosin Nagant today. It is the 91/30 from the Izhevsk arsenal. The bayonet has scribed numbers that are different but all the other serial numbers match and have the same fonts. It was built in 1943 and there isn't much wear on it. The stock is in great condition with more wear on the upper hand guard. There is a reverse R on the stock and I wonder if was replaced, but it does have the Izhevsk stamp under the butt stock. The best part is that I traded a basic Ruger 10/22 that I picked up for pretty cheap at a pawn shop and haven't shot in quite some time!!

Hello there,
I’m new to this site so I apologize for any foolish things I may regarding WW sniper rifles. That being said, I’m looking at buying a 1943 Tula numbers matching sniper rifle. With PU scope and mount. I have questions.
Thank you.

Hello everyone,
another newbie here. I´m living in germany and i bought recently a 1943 build Izhevsk 91/30.
First i wanted a K98 – but you don´t find one in a reasonable good condition for an affordable price here in germany.
So i went out and picked up a Mosin... and fell in love.
Seems like its an (ex)-sniper, the drilled holes (not sealed/welded) are still there where the mounting plate of the scope would be attached.
Serialnumbers with prefix are all matching, just the bolt knob has a Thula star on it - all other parts Izhevsk stamp.
Red shellac refurb postwar stock. Many stamps on barrel and stock, arsenal and refurbish stamps, including some i have never seen on posted images.
Will post the next days in a separate thread some pictures of it. First i have to clean and then shoot on the range.![Cool 8-)](./images/smilies/icon_cool.gif)
