Foiled again!-SCORE! W/ Pics.

Post by Shawnc »

So I'm at the local Army/Navy store picking up a small uniform item and I look up on the wall and there before me is a really dark Mosin. I ask to see it and it's a 1925, ex-dragoon Tula for $120. Thanks to you all, or I'd never known what I was looking at. I was so enthralled I forgot to check the stock for markings, but I assume it's a refurb. All the parts had matching numbers and I was just in love. Unfortunately rent and car payment ruled the day and I had to leave it there. So everyone needs to send negative vibes here so maybe no one will pick it up before my next paycheck in 2 weeks. If for no other reason than I think it'll make for some great pics. I can't tell you exactly where, unfortunately, as I'm sure Pacanis will sneak his way over here and buy it out from under me. :bwink:

Nice find, hope you get it. I am too far from Virginia, otherwise I would. I am seriously wanting to add a Tula ex dragoon at this time. I gotta go into town today and I think I am gonna make a couple extra stops and hope I am lucky.

It is probably an Ex-dragoon and $120.00 for matching is not a bad price. Ain't them 20s guns purdy?

It will be there Shawn, you've publicly claimed it as yours already :)

I have a rifle on the wish list at nearly every shop in the area. They're coming home one by one, along with a few others I find along the way lol.

Good luck on grabbing this one. It sounds pretty awesome!

Wish me luck guys, I'm going to check today and post some pics hopefully tonight. With the baby on the way I had to strike a deal that will make this the last until next year. :vsad: This will cover a lot of bases though. I have a round 43 Izhevsk, this will cover Tula, ex Dragoon, and hex. Hope it's still there!

Haven't fully taken it apart yet, But here are a couple of pictures to show off the new baby.

Unfortunately no accessories, but how many little tools do I need anyway, right? Counterbored, dark rifling looks good. Won't be a hunting rifle, but a nice occasional shooter.

More pics tonight!

Shawn that's awesome. did you ask about layaway? That has a small refurb mark above the serial#, and the big hammer on the receiver is really nice. Layaway, late car payment, sell a kidney, borrow, you'll figure it out!
