Anybody ever had experience with one of these?

Post by Themosinkid95 »

I took a chance the other day and ordered a “rusty” sling from liberty tree with hopes that I can clean it up and breath new life into it and use it on my Garand, has anybody ever had good luck cleaning one up before?

I have not had experience with them, but they would have to be dirt cheap to take a chance to get one to clean up nice enough for display. They probably not hurt for pure function.

Ok so it came in in decent shape, now it’s time to see how well I can clean it up.

That just looks normal.

Not perfect, but certainly usable
Damn, I'll bet that's going to leave a mark! Probably hurt too!

If you want a new GI sling check out: https://www.ammogarand.com/bayonetsslings.html

I just purchased two. Actually, I made a mistake and got them in nylon webbing. I guess they'll end up on my Ruger 10/22 LTR and on my M1a.

Aloha, Mark
