Bore diameter on 91/30 barrels

Bore diameter on 91/30 barrels

Being some what new to Russian firearms other than AKs and SKS type weapons and having heard several different "facts"on bore diameter from .308 .310 and .311.I know that this is the forum to get the true skinny

They vary. I've slugged really nice looking bores and got .310 to .313

Thanks,so if I decide to reload would I be in the ball park using .310 as my median bullet diameter

Best thing to do is slug your bore. I have to admit, I have yet to do that and I own several Russian M91/30 rifles. I find the .311 and 312 diameter bullets work well in all of them. I use he same diameter with my .303 Enfield rifles. The .310 diameter is mainly a bullet for the AK or SKS. I understand the Finn Mosin Nagant rifles normally use smaller diameter bullets ranging from .308 to .310, but you'll have to get that information from the Finn owners first hand here on the forum.
